HISTORY

ANTONIO ANFOSSI - Genoa (1874-1960)  Industrial of the sugar, becomes president and the greater shareholder of the zuccherifici liguri Lombardi (sugar factory) increasing the number of the establishments and acquiring for himself the agricultural companies, one for every new constructed sugar refinery. In this way he built an estate with the farm in Portomaggiore (FE) which was 1000 ectar with annexed the cheese and tomatoes conservation factory; one in Piacenza, Parma and Livorno, always with the idea to transform the agriculture products in to industrial products. In the end, he bought the house and land in Bastia in the 1919, with the intention of set up a good withdrawal for the old age, next to the native village Onzo. It begins therefore the long job of reclamation of lands bought form public domain and the proceeds from external land to the new containment of the close Arroscia torrent. Reclamation (take out the stones , and bury green refuse) begun with wagons and horses and finished with tractors and trawlers, was build therefore the "Abissinia". The name has had to the fact that Antonio, veteran from a trip in the Italian colonies as soon as he saw the land acquired said : there is nothing else except stones, seems to be in Abissinia . The main initiatives undertaken from Antonio were to import and to spread of the new varieties of peaches coming from United State and grafted in the farm. The assignment was to cure the green in the international exhibition in 1942 in Rome for which 1 000 000 vases of geranium had been cultivated in Bastia, which it was an incredible number for the flower cultivation of those times.

LUIGI ANFOSSI Genoa (1913-2007) Attends the school of agrarian at Carlsburg in Belgium, succeed the father in the 1950 continuing the paternal conduction, in part in directed economy and in share-cropping, producing peaches, therefore flowers, grape and wine for his friends. Mayor of Albenga in the 60s takes especially care of agricultures problems, being the president for 25 years of the Provincial Union of Agriculture. Grateful to his wife ( Giulia Perosio) help, the job of the flowers is developed mainly, became bigger with the production of orchidee, strelizie and plants in vase for apartment.

MARIO ANFOSSI Genoa (1954) Enters to work in the company after attend the (scientifico) high school in Genova. After six years of training in the 1980 he was forced, due to an exceptional hail fall, to make the account of the endured damages and to analyse the management of the previous year; with the conclusion to close the company. Closing necessary in order to start again with new ideas and new forces.

PAOLO GROSSI Turin (1953)  Graduated in agrarian sciences in Turin in 1979 became partner of Mario in 1980 in the management of the new company. Together they believes in the exceptional potentiality of the zone, because of the configuration of the land and the water availability, the quality of the hearth and the climate that very rarely reach the 0°. It begins therefore a real and own business revolution: in a short time it will be passed to a directed conduction of the farm, where the traditional figures of the sharecroppers, the factor, the head greenhouse, the accountant are destined to disappear.
