Today the Azienda Agraria Anfossi has an agricultural surface of 30 hectares in subdivided plan:

The BOSCHETTO, a biological oasis where the rivers Neva and Arroscia fork, that extends on 18 hectares where we grown vegetables. 

Far away from the sliding roads, protected from the effect derives of the other people's poisons, we cultivates in extensive way, without the use of pesticide chemical but using natural dung and the way of manure; waiting to obtain the certification of organic cultivation (regulations the EEC n. 2092/91 and further modifications) 

 

In these lands we cultivate in prevalence basil, artichokes, salad, Brussels sprouts, broccolis, wild rocket. 

The ground is melted, sandy , of alluvial origin, with a good foundation that guarantees drains it in the rainy periods. 

Water supplying is guaranteed from 4 well to which the buried network of distribution is connected. 

The raining irrigation is regulated from automatic switchboard that control the opening and the duration of the cycle.

All the operations are mechanized: the working of the land, the levelling, the disinfection, the manuring, seeds it and the transplant, the weeding until the harvesting.

In the course of the last decade in fact, the Azienda Agraria Anfossi has invested huge resources in renews of machines, and working with the aim of being able to have an organic agriculture without lose in competitiveness.

In agronomic terms they have been adopted practical way of till, like the ploughing, the alternation, the use of  bovine dung, the manure, stiff to diminish the intensive exploitation of the land.

In terms of control of the production costs it has been necessary to have specific mechanical machines, like the level machine with laser control in order to avoid stagnations and to concur sowing and mechanized harvests of great precision, the hoer, the facilitation of collection for artichokes and cabbages, the self-moving gatherer for greens with leafs (basil, rockets , beet) automatically controlled height of cut and the mobile system for the disinfection in field, using steam at 170 °C for the organic fight to infesting and the pathogenic ones of the land.

The ABISSINIA, to the West where they have been implanted from 1980 the vineyards (6 hectares) with modern techniques of system. 

 

The sandy structure of the land does not represent the best habitat for the Philossera of the vine, so that it is possible to cultivate the vine without using the American door-graft.

The "direct " system of the vine penalizes the duration of the system and it does not guarantee the quantity that would be obtained with the graft, however maintains more originals the characteristics of the vineyard. 

The varieties are those of the DOC previewed in our zone such as " Pigato - Vermentino - Rossese ", from the West Liguria Coast. 

The maximum production concurred disciplining is 10 ton for hectare, however for the reasons over said very rarely we collected such a big quantity. 

The breeding is to speronato cord, with palificazione in c.a., double wire for the self tying of the vine and system of aid irrigation.

The land is inerbito and maintained self mow in order to contain the dissemination of the weeds. 

The same for the garden cultivations, for the vineyards it is in course the conversion to organic agriculture, that concurs only the use of copper, sulphur or natural antagonists of the crittogame, however the treatments are made with low water volume atomizers that eliminate the percolazione in the land. 

We do not use chemical poisons. 

The manuring is made up of natural and organic manures, without using chemical fertilizer. 

The green pruning, like the grape harvest, comes carried out manually with careful selection of the clusters.

Three hectares of vine are in course of new system. 

In Abissinia we find the Olive trees, whose system goes back to years '60, for 270 plants, Taggiasca variety from which come from 30 q.li of extra virgin olive oil.

The system is wide (the plants are distant 8 mt. from the other) and the air and the light catch up all the vegetation. 

The olive grove is flat level, watered to furrows with the water of the Consortium irrigation, with annual pruning and maintenance , manured with biological and organic material, cultivated without use of chemical poisons. 

The fight to the olive tree fly is lead with natural ant parasitic traps to ferormoni concurred disciplining.

The yield percentage of the olives in oil it is in average of 20-22 % with traditional extraction with the Columbian stone grinders . 

In Abissinia still,there is the machine to cut the rosmary, destined to the fresh market, that it occupies a surface of 0.5 in the West part of the property, to the border with the Arveglio torrent.

 

The central position to the property the lands of the Large Villa ( in part garden of the owner house) is covered from 10,000 mq. of glass greenhouses , cultivated with flowers in vase and vegetables like wild rockets, basil, and spring onion. Still 5.000 mq of tunnels covered in ant freezing network for the premature cultivation of the artichokes.
