IN HIGH OLEIC SUNFLOWER OIL

This semi-finished product is marketed as an affordable, “premium” quality offer for clients seeking a product that can compete with extra-virgin olive oil, a high-oleic sunflower oil enriched with vitamins and antioxidants. This product is attracting consumer interest through an effective marketing strategy in a number of sectors.
Extra-virgin olive oil is a delicate, unstable product, and as a result its quality and price have fluctuated widely in recent years. These variations are too great for a food industry where stability is an essential element in commercial strategies. This means it’s been necessary to create extra-virgin olive oil substitutes that offer all the health benefits of extra-virgin oil and project a similar image of wholesomeness and authenticity.
Extra-virgin olive oil’s outstanding features are:
• high oleic acid content (monounsaturated fatty acid).
• high phenol content (natural antioxidants).
This has led to the development of a high oleic (80% declared) sunflower seed oil enriched with vitamin E and natural antioxidants – rosemary, laurel and sage. The result is a neutral-tasting product that combines the alimentary characteristics of an EVO oil with the convenience of sunflower oil, a product with almost zero oxidation and rancidity. This enables all the other problems associated with managing a chemically-delicate product like EVO olive oil to be avoided.
